In its latest incarnation as CodeSMART 2009 for VS.NET, this is an add-in for Visual Studio .NET (versions 2008, 2005, 2003, 2002) which is covering a broad range of tasks like project and code navigation, code editing, code review, code reuse, text editor enhancements, UI review, code commenting etc.
With its last version as CodeSMART 2009 for VB, this is probably the most powerfull add-in ever for classic Visual Basic (VB6), which completely changes the IDE experience from both a visual and feature point of view.
Selection Popup is a free Visual Studio 2010 extension that displays an unobtrusive popup in the immediate vicinity of a text selection, offering the user quick access to operations like the classic cut-copy-paste-delete, as well as some more specific tasks like indent, unindent, case transformation and spaces to tabs conversions. Also, the current selection size in characters is displayed in the same area.
Source+ 2000 is the only real VB6 components reusability tool. You will be able to import/export complete components (classes, modules and designers) not to mention the 80+ components pre-built code library that comes with the package.
If you need a patching toolkit, EasyPatch 2001 may be the perfect answer. A binary patching engine, rounded by a redistribution system which will allow you to deploy a setup kit-like executable that does the entire job.
If you ever needed more from Visual Basic (VB6) forms than what the standard properties offer, look no further than AxFormExtender. Window styles, automatic position/size persistence, min/max size etc, everything is available, packed in a very easy to use OCX component.
Of course we have some freeware tools as well. There's a visual logger application that can help you log anything from your programs to an external ActiveX server, and a SourceSafe recursive purge application built that can save you ages and nicely clean up your database.
